Well Here Goes Nothin!

This is my very first post and to be perfectly honest I'm a little nervous. What if I misspell every other word and everyone figures out that I'm not as smart as I act. Oh!! wonderful there is a spell check!
This is 2 of my children's 2nd week of school. Weston started High School and is saying out loud many positive comments about Westwood. Weston, at times, can be very hard to please. He smiles alot lately and melts my heart with his happiness. He is on the Golf Team and is loving Mr. Seaman's CP Chemistry class. He even wants me to take Spanish at MCC so we can talk to each other while we learn Spanish.
Kaytlyn started Junior High at Stapley and is having a great time also. She has already made new friends and is flirting(looking at and even tried the bend and snap) with a "really hot boy" in some of her classes. She was in the 7th grade choir and tried out for the advanced choir and made it!! How thrilling it is to watch her not let her fears stop her from doing what she wants to do.
All summer I have been working up my nerve to go to MCC and take the asset test to see where I should begin my learning for the brain dead. I finally did it last week. I was the oldest one in the testing center( this includes the people that work there). I was so nervous when I got there that something would go wrong that I went into the bookstore and bought alot of their pencil supply. What if my lead broke or I ran out of lead. I would definitely need back up lead. By the time I finished shopping I had notebooks and pencils enough for everyone in the room. I went into the room and lo there was pencils in little cups all over the place and scratch paper (no notebooks aloud) to use. I was a tad embarrassed when asked if I was going to take the Algebra test and did I need a calculator. I looked over the example and decided the numerical test was all I could handle. Every other person took the really hard(Greek to me) tests and I was sweating over the easy one. "That's OK "I told myself. " I am unique, it's fun to be different." I did as expected on the math test and must start pretty much at the beginning, but to my surprise I did fabulously on the Writing and Reading tests. They even recommended me for the "honors" classes!! I am thrilled and excited to begin my math class next week! I'm not too worried because I have a 7th grader who can help me.
I feel like life is the best teacher and that we should learn from all of our experiences. So.... what have I learned from this experience? " Don't let your fears win! Be led by your successes"

Wah-hooo! You beat your fear and entered into the Bloggersphere with the rest of us. No misspelled words too! :)
Whitney is over here right now and of course spilled the beans that you have a blog now.
I can't believe we've got flirting going on already. I bet you are a little nervous about your baby not being a baby anymore.
And finally, WAY TO GO on your MCC enrollment. I love college and plan on going back and taking many more classes through out my life. I too really struggle with the math stuff. It's just hard to find the life application so one forgets it faster than the other subject. Anyway I am so happy you are going for it.
So where's the update on Keith?

Yahoo, you have entered the blogging world. Be warned though, it can be addicting! Actually you will find that it will be a great way to stay in touch with other people without the lengthy phone calls for a quick catch up!!
congrats on your new adventures as a college student. You will do awesome. And don't worry about being the oldest. I know someone that is much older than you that went back to school after her 11 children were grown and had a blast.

Wow i"m glad Weston likes Westwood, he didn't seem too thrilled about it last year! So don't feel bad about the MCC test, I went and took it a couple weeks ago and I was the YOUNGEST person there by at least two years, and I kept asking stupid questions so don't worry!Love your blog!!! Oh and Congrats Grandma-to-be!!

Aagh! You have a blog! I almost threw up at the part about Kaitlin in Jr. High. She's just a really smart 7 year old instead of old enough to be there, right? I can't believe it. And you're going to be a GRANDMA! Sorry, but I giggled at the thought. Now, it's time for you to post again! (with pictures)
I'll be watching for updates. :)

Kim,
I think your husband was good friends with my hubby and even hung out at their house. I am married to Alan Nichols. I was following different blogs last night and came upon yours and thought maybe this is my DH's friend and wife. Let me know. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
